Who you talk to

After you reach out, an independent roofing provider from our network contacts you. That person runs a real roofing business in your area. They are not an employee of Heroboots Roofing. We are a referral service, so the roof work, the quote, and the contract all come from the provider.

What happens on the first call

Expect a short, friendly chat. The provider will likely ask:

• Where the home is
• How old the roof is
• What you see, such as leaks, missing shingles, or sagging
• Whether a storm played a part
• When you would like the job done

Then they may set a time to look at the roof. A good provider looks before they price. Be careful with anyone who gives a firm number from a phone call alone.

What to ask a contractor

Here are questions to ask, and what a good answer sounds like.

• "Are you licensed and insured?" A good answer is yes, with proof you can see.
• "Will you give me a written quote?" Yes, with materials, labor, and cleanup listed.
• "What happens to my old roof?" They explain the tear-off and how they haul it away.
• "How do you protect my home if it rains mid-job?" They have a plan for tarps and cover.
• "Who does the work?" Their own crew, or named subcontractors.
• "Can you share local references?" Yes, without fuss.

Red flags include vague answers, pressure to sign today, and a request for the full price up front. Know the red flags.

You are in control

Talking to a provider does not lock you in. You can get more than one quote. You can take time to think. You can say no. Typical U.S. roof replacement costs vary a lot by size, pitch, and materials, so compare written quotes side by side.

If you have storm damage, a provider can often help document it for a claim. Some policies may cover sudden damage. Check your policy and talk with your insurer.
